After performing to 1,500 “in the mood” live music fans at club venues in and festivals in 2007, after a year on the road, the band took a break from the scene to re-focus.

During that time they recruited a new bass player following the departure of Simon Murton.
His replacement is Eric Lafrogne, an extremely talented multi-instrumentalist who confirms A51’s status as the most international band around…with an American singer, a guitarist from Essex, a Cornish drummer and now a French bassist!

It’s four members are a supreme example of a band that was meant to be together - they have a natural flair and onstage bond which creates a powerful and exciting performance.

Even though the band was only put together in 2006, their chemistry was instantaneous and is apparant in their live performance. Many have commented that Area 51 plays like a unit that has been together for many years.

After hitting the live scene at the end of May ‘06, they quickly become a force to be reckoned with and one of the top rock bands in Cornwall.

And lets not forget the band was put together to play original material, which has been part of the set since November ‘06 - and new material will continue to appear in each setlist featuring the new line-up…!
